twice at TED, and for Google, E-Bay, KPMG, UBS, Stanford, Wharton, Brown, Harvard Business School, and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
Bill Walton has over two decades of leadership insight from his lengthy career and from iconic mentors like coach John Wooden. Walton is an authentic and true original who personifies greatness and is one of the most compassionate figures in sport with an extraordinary record of giving back. Walton is an NBA legend, basketball analyst, author, speaker and entrepreneur. A former NBA Champion and MVP, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and selected as one of the NBA’s Fifty Greatest Players ever. Bill has a successful, award-winning, broadcasting career with ABC, ESPN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, Turner, and Fox, among others.

Alex Fischer – President and CEO, Columbus Partnership
Alex currently serves as Chairman of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He is a Trustee of The Ohio State University and on the boards of Advanced Drainage Systems, Columbus 2020, Nationwide Children’s Championship, and The Ohio State Innovation Foundation.
The Columbus Partnership is a non-profit, membership-based CEO organization of more than 60 CEOs from Columbus’ leading businesses and institutions. The Columbus Partnership’s primary goal is to improve the economic vitality of the Columbus Region.
Mark Patton – Vice President, Smart Cities
Prior to joining the Partnership, Mark was the President of FactGem, a data analytics platform for customer intelligence. Patton held senior roles in both sales and marketing organizations with corporations, including P&G, Apple and Kodak. Prior to moving to Ohio, Mark spent the previous 15 years leading technology start-up companies in Silicon Valley.
Smart Cities is a joint venture led by the city of Columbus and the Columbus Partnership. It charged with addressing how emerging transportation data, technologies and applications can be used to address mobility challenges and spur reinvestment in underserved communities.
Carla Bailo – AVP, Mobility Research and Business Development, OSU
Carla has helped the university accelerate sustainable mobility and transportation innovation, while integrating related research and education across Ohio State’s academic units.
She has served as senior vice president of research and development for Nissan North America, Inc., where she was responsible for vehicle engineering and development operations in Michigan, Arizona, Mexico and Brazil, managing a $500 million budget and 2,500 employees. In this role, she improved the efficiency of Nissan’s R&D functions.

David is an ambassador for Simon Sinek and his Start With Why team’s desire to motivate people to do the things that inspire them, David began developing communication and content. David now travels internationally, helping people shift their perceptions about the reason their organizations really exist, what leadership is, and how human biology plays into it all. He has presented to over 100 organizations in a wide variety of industries including Johnson and Johnson, Zappos, Capital One, and Hyatt.
Devin Liddell leads the brand strategy offering for design consultancy Teague, working collaboratively with clients such as Anheuser-Busch InBev, The Boeing Company, Intel, JW Marriott, Microsoft, and SC Johnson to create research-driven strategies and consumer experiences. Devin has more than a decade of experience in brand strategy and design, working across a broad spectrum of industries including aerospace, higher education, software/technology, food and beverage, and retail.
